TWO COOL® Reaches Milestone Shipment
August 10, 1998 (Pleasanton, CA) - Wright Williams & Kelly announced today that it has shipped its industry standard cost of ownership (COO) and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) software, TWO COOL®, to its 100th unique customer. TWO COOL® was first introduced to the market in 1995 at the request of SEMATECH. "SEMATECH decided in 1993 that for COO to be globally accepted there needed to be a commercial supplier," states Daren L. Dance, SEMATECH's former COO Commercialization Project Manager. "The need for world-wide COO training and support went far beyond the scope of the limited membership of a consortium. We didn't dare dream that commercialization would be this successful. TWO COOL® passed SEMATECH's old revision B COO software in unit shipments about a year after its introduction and more than 50% of TWO COOL® shipments have been outside of the U. S." "We believe that TWO COOL®, with its 100 customers and over 2000 licensees, is the most widely used software package in semiconductor manufacturing operations," states David W. Jimenez, WWK's Vice President & General Manager. "The global standardization on TWO COOL® has saved the semiconductor industry untold millions of dollars. In fact, I wouldn't doubt if it has actually contributed to billions of dollars in cost reductions, cost avoidances, and increased revenues."
