WWK Signs Volume Purchase Agreement
August 22, 1996 (Dublin, CA) - Wright Williams & Kelly announced today the completion of an agreement for worldwide implementation of TWO COOLTM cost of ownership (COO) software with SGS-THOMSON Microelectronics. The agreement covers all SGS-THOMSON wafer fab and assembly facilities and will be used for both new equipment purchases and on-going supplier management.
"We selected TWO COOLTM after a thorough analysis within our organization," stated Dr. Gérard Stéhelin, the Worldwide Front-End Operations Corporate Equipment Programs Manager. We have been pleased with both the software and support and have decided to move forward with this program on a worldwide basis. The ability to use a standard model that simplified communication both inside SGS-THOMSON and with our suppliers was a key consideration. Initial implementation is already underway in several wafer fabs."
"We are pleased that this agreement covers both front-end and back-end applications," indicated David W. Jimenez, WWK's Vice President and General Manager. "SGS-THOMSON is one of the most geographically diverse IC manufacturers in the world. We look forward to the challenge of effectively supporting SGS-THOMSON in the broad range of applications that are provided by cost of ownership."
