SEMATECH/WWK to Jointly Develop Drives 0.25µm Design TargetsDecember 21, 1995 (Dublin, CA) - It was announced today that SEMATECH has contracted Wright Williams & Kelly to jointly develop the next generation of yield modeling software. This software will be used to drive design rules and equipment specifications for 0.25µm device production. "SEMATECH has assembled a core team of yield modeling experts from member companies and universities to assist in this development program", states Randy Williams, SEMATECH's Yield Modeling Program Manager. "Results of this project will support the National Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors and semiconductor fabrication equipment suppliers." "We are very excited about our continued contribution to software development at SEMATECH", states Daren Dance, WWK's Manager of Applications Research and Development and SEMATECH's former Cost Modeling Team Leader. "This project is a dramatic departure from previous efforts in that it will allow the end user to automatically scale yield parameters to their own device type and design rules." SEMATECH is a non-profit research consortium of major U.S. semiconductor manufacturers and the Department of Defense. Its mission is to solve the technical challenges required to keep the U.S. number one in the global semiconductor marketplace. Wright Williams & Kelly is a cost reduction modeling and simulation company. Providing technology-dependent and technology-driven companies with consulting services and software solutions for productivity measurement and enhancement since 1991.
